Any individual who is caught in the grip of active using will often believe they do not have a problem, and that family and friends are needlessly worrying about their behaviour. Often referred to as being in ‘denial’, those close to the individual feel as though they are powerless in helping them to seek professional help in a drug and alcohol rehab clinic. This feeling of powerlessness is understandable but completely unnecessary; there is a solution. Even those with the most severe denial can usually be persuaded to seek treatment through an Intervention.p>

An Intervention is a treatment process designed to help the individual - through the support of family, friends or colleagues - seek the relevant help for their addiction. Without this specialist approach, most people will fail in their attempt to make the individual see reason, thus resulting in frustration, anger, and eventually a breakdown in the relationship.

The Intervention will normally include several people, usually close family members or significant others preparing factual information relating to the individual’s destructive behaviour. With the correct gathering of information beforehand and thorough preparation, an Intervention is a highly effective technique in making someone come to realise that they have a serious illness that needs professional help, usually in a residential rehab clinic.

An Intervention can often be very successful provided all those present are ‘singing from the same song sheet’. In reality, there is often a dissenter who thinks they know best who will often ruin the whole process. If you think this is going to happen in your family group, then you will need the expert guidance of a trained Interventionist.

An Interventionist will carry out a telephone assessment, then visits your home and guides you through the Intervention. They will often complete the process by taking the individual to the chosen clinic; it is vital that you have a bed booked and a bag packed as the transfer to the clinic should be immediate. Do book a bed in advance – our Interventionists rarely fail.

Clearly most Interventionists will normally charge for their professional services. We do, however, have a few highly successful Other Interventionists that we use would probably achieve a successful Intervention for around £500 through our services.
