Quasi-residential addiction clinics offer a more affordable alternative to full residential treatment centres, whilst still providing extremely high quality drug and alcohol rehab programmes at a fraction of the cost.
Drug and alcohol rehab in a quasi-residential unit is regarded as "treatment in the real world" living in the community whilst receiving primary care. Clinics run what are commonly known as "sober living houses" that are situated a few minutes walk from the treatment centre. After attending the rehab programme throughout the day, clients then return to their houses to eat, sleep and continue with their daily living. Full 24-hour support is provided through qualified and experienced Support Workers who are available to assist with any personal issues that may arise. |

One common fear around this type of rehab clinic is that individuals are more likely to abscond. In reality, this is very rare in the quasi-residential setting and far less likely than in a fully residential addiction clinic. Their high retention rates are largely down to the use of "buddies" to supervise "new" clients, and to the fact that the client is still 'living' within the community.

Quasi-residential drug and alcohol rehab programmes usually run for a minimum period of six weeks, although some addiction clinics are flexible on the length of stay. The treatment programme incorporates group and one-to-one counselling sessions, development of life skills, relapse prevention, and a number of complementary therapies such as yoga, massage, Reiki and meditation. |
Primary care quasi-rehab is available from £3,600 for a
six week programme
