Residential rehab centres offer clients a full "on-site" treatment programme with 24-hour medical and nursing support, along with all food, accommodation, detox and therapy included in the overall cost. One of the main advantages of in-patient treatment is that the individual is able to undergo their initial drug or alcohol detox whilst integrating themselves into the rehab programme at a pace they are comfortable with. Separate detox units are only equipped to carry out the initial phase of the rehabilitation programme, and more often than not, clients will claim to feel "fully recovered" once they have completed their detox and will then feel it unnecessary to continue with rehab. In the majority of cases, most will relapse and will then have to begin the process all over again.

Although this is a slightly more expensive option, it is usually the preferred method of rehab for the treatment of addictive disorders as individuals reside within a 'peer led' community, with the ongoing support of both highly qualified addiction therapists and fellow peers. |
In-patient drug and alcohol rehab provides the essential tools for individuals to start rebuilding their lives through a structured daily programme. Most addicts/alcoholics' lives have become completely unmanageable and daily living and the carrying out of everyday chores are usually beyond their control. In-patient clinics gradually start to rebuild this essential part of their lives by giving individuals the responsibility with certain tasks which are deemed as crucial in the overall treatment process.
Primary care in-patient rehab is available from £1,500 per week
